EasyRecorder
Audio never leaves your device

How EasyRecorder works

EasyRecorder records your voice in the browser, scrolls your script while you read, and gives you a clean, steady WAV file to download. There’s nothing to install and no account to make, and your audio never leaves your device.

Three steps

  1. Write your script

Paste it into the teleprompter, or press Practice text to get something to read while you test your mic.

  2. Record while you read

The script scrolls at your reading pace and highlights the line to say next. Press M to drop a marker whenever you fluff a line.

  3. Trim and download

Cut fluffed words in the trim editor, pick a preset, and download a 16-bit WAV. The untouched original is always there too.

The same voice chain radio stations use

Every preset runs your take through the six stages a radio station puts a voice through, in the same order, then shortens long pauses and cuts breaths if you want it to.

  1. High-pass filterCuts the rumble under 100 Hz, where there’s almost none of your voice.
  2. Downward expanderTurns fans, keyboards and breathing down between your words.
  3. De-esserSoftens the sharp hiss of “s” sounds and leaves the rest of your voice alone.
  4. Presence boostA gentle lift around 3,500 Hz, the range that makes words clear.
  5. CompressorEvens out quiet and loud words, then brings the take to −16 LUFS.
  6. LimiterA ceiling, so a laugh or a shout never distorts.

How to make your voice sound like radio: each stage explained

More than a recorder

  • A teleprompter built in

Set the pace from 80 to 220 words a minute, pause the script to ad-lib without stopping the take, or open it full screen with mirror mode for a glass rig.

  • Cut by the word

The trim editor shows every word as a block over the waveform. Click one to hear it and press Delete to cut it; the pause after it goes too, so the sentence still flows.

  • Markers for retakes

Press M when you fluff a line and keep going. Markers show on the waveform as jump buttons, so you can find and cut the bad take in seconds.

  • Lossless WAV

Takes are captured as plain PCM and saved as 16-bit WAV, so the file is your microphone’s signal, not a compressed copy.

  • Private by design

Recording and processing run in your browser. Takes stay in this browser until you delete them.

  • Ready before you record

A 10-second mic check tells you what to fix, and a 4-minute voice warm-up gets you ready to read.

Questions

Is EasyRecorder free?

Yes. There’s no account to make, no watermark and nothing to install. Open the page, allow the microphone and record.

Is my recording uploaded anywhere?

No. Recording and processing run in your browser, and takes are kept in this browser’s storage until you delete them. That also means they’re only on this device, so download anything you want to keep.

What format is the download?

A 16-bit WAV file at your microphone’s sample rate, usually 48 kHz. The processed version has your cuts and the preset applied; “the untouched original” is the recording exactly as it was captured.

Which browsers and devices does it work on?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers and phones. On a phone the recorder keeps it simple: record, pick a preset, listen and download.

Can I use it just as a teleprompter?

Yes. The full-screen teleprompter uses the same script, scrolls at your pace, mirrors the text for a glass rig and works from the keyboard: Space to play, arrow keys for pace, M to mirror.

How do I make my voice sound better on a recording?

Get close to the mic, about a hand-span away, and record in a small room with soft furnishings and the fans off. Run the mic check to see your level and noise, and the Podcast preset does the rest.

Which preset should I use?

Podcast suits most voices and podcast apps. Narration keeps pauses tight for course videos and voiceover, Radio is firmly compressed and louder, Voice note is a light touch, Noisy room turns the room down harder between words, and Quiet speaker lifts a soft voice. Untouched gives you the recording as it was.
